Welcome!

Our M.A. program in Political Science fosters a deeper understanding of political landscapes that range from the historical to the contemporary, from the Americas to Europe to the Middle East and on to the expanding economies of China and Asia. Our graduate students develop the analytical and professional skills required for success in both academic and non-academic job markets.

With 22 faculty members in our department and an additional 15 associated faculty, students can choose from a wide range of specific research fields and will also benefit enormously from our formal links with top international research institutions. We offer both traditional and interdisciplinary courses, as well as inter-university course options. The department is also closely associated with the Masters of Public Service program and the MA and PhD programs in Global Governance.

Please explore our MA program in Political Science by following the links on the left for a program description, specific faculty research information, funding opportunities, course information and more about graduate studies at the University of Waterloo.

If you would like to discuss anything about the program, please contact me at fbird@uwaterloo.ca or you can contact our graduate program assistant, April Wettig, at awettig@uwaterloo.ca  We are glad to help.

Sincerely,
Frederick Bird
